Cursillo Toledo is Home Wherever We Gather!

From Our Lay Directors:

We would like to say a very special “THANK YOU!!” to Sr. Edna Michel and all of the Sisters of St. Francis for hosting us at the Spirituality Center since the spring of 2022. We will miss you dearly, and pray for you and all the changes happening on the Franciscan Campus in the following years. We’re very blessed to have had you all as part of our Cursillo journey!

We’re especially blessed to be celebrating Cursillo #300, a milestone for the Cursillo movement, and cherish this time together! (This Women’s weekend is Oct. 16th thru 19th, 2025)

The Cursillo Movement of the Diocese of Toledo is and will continue to set the world on fire, no matter where we have our retreat weekends!

As we told you at the closing of the men’s Cursillo a few weeks ago, the next Cursillo weekends (after this fall) will be in June of 2026 at Maria Stein Retreat Center. We looked into many places and/ or retreat centers while trying to find a “new home” for the movement. Hours of phone calls, visits, emails, text messages and meetings went into our decision. But most importantly prayers for guidance from the secretariat and many of you lead us to our decision. Our biggest hurdles were pricing and scheduling, as most places are booked up a year in advance. Maria Stein is a ways away, but it is also a beautiful retreat facility and we feel blessed to have it booked for 2026. We will set Maria Stein on Fire with the Light of Christ, as we have any place Cursillo has lived.

Men’s Cursillo #301 will be June 4th - 7th, 2026 at Maria Stein Rector; Jeff Hammer

Women’s Cursillo #302 will be June 18th - 21st, 2026 at Maria Stein Rector; Mary Lyons

Blessings! Your Brother and Sister in Christ,

Shining Light

From Our Spiritual Advisor: As I meditated on what I should address in this article, I encountered the Gospel reading for Thursday of the third week in ordinary time – the familiar parable in Mark 4:2
